Sharing a vision for IS Research and Education Development in the GCC

Bright Internet Global Symposium (BIGS) is a global forum of exchanging the vision and research outcomes on various issues of Bright Internet. The 21st International Research Workshop on Information Technology Project Management (IRWITPM) will feature research papers and one or more panels that focus on problems that cut across many traditional IS/T Project Management areas, including, but not limited to, the following topics: project success, virtual project management, agile project management, knowledge networks in projects, project management methodologies, distributed project management, project leadership, project quality metrics, project management standards, best practices in project management, and pedagogical issues.

Cross-Cultural Perspectives on AI, Globalization, and Digital Platforms
This year’s SIG CCRIS workshop focuses on cross-cultural perspectives on AI, globalization, and digital platforms, emphasizing how cultural values, norms, and institutional environments shape the design, implementation, and outcomes of information systems. We invite research that advances theoretical and empirical understanding of how culture interacts with emerging technologies in an increasingly globalized digital landscape.

This workshop will focus on a wide range of topics associated with the integration of technology and systems and accounting and technology. HITS (Health Information Technology Symposium) is a pre-conference activity of the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) hosted by the Special Interest Group Health IT (SIGHEALTH). This pre-ICIS workshop focuses on the evolving relationship between individuals and digital technology. It seeks to consolidate diverse perspectives on how digitization reshapes personal experiences, societal roles, and concepts of autonomy. We invite researchers across disciplines, including information systems, to explore the opportunities, risks, and ethical challenges of life in a digitized world.

This Workshop interfaces the ICT4D field and Information Systems research. Between a past of positive assumptions and a present of at least partially adverse digital incorporation, we build the shape of ICT4D to come, that is, the future of our field. These are theoretical and empirical contributions making sense of the field including conceptualisations of ICT4D and cognate fields of research, philosophical and methodological contributions to studies of technology, society and on the human condition.

SIGAI – 11th Annual Workshop. This workshop will focus on a broad range of topics including AI applications, compound AI, generative AI, large language models, machine learning and their cognitive and organizational effects. We will drill down on governance and ethics concerns. We will examine issues associated with introducing AI into education and approaches to classroom use. We will investigate the impact of AI on work and processes and the need to reorganize work.

This workshop provides an annual forum for the breadth of sustainability research in IS and thus contributes to further developing this important IS research domain.

This workshop is for authors aiming to submit their work to the upcoming special issue in the Information Systems Journal (ISJ) on “Digital Sovereignty”. Others interested in this topic are also welcome. Presenters are invited to submit extended abstracts prior to the conference sketching out ideas for research/contribution of 3 pages max.

The joint AISWN-SIGSI-ISJ workshop encourages research that reflects the wide and interdisciplinary nature of the IS field and is looking for submissions that integrate technological advancements and digital innovations with social, contextual and management issues, based on research using appropriate research methods. Immediately following ICIS 2026 in Lisbon, the Post-ICIS KrAIS Research Workshop will convene Korean IS scholars, doctoral students, junior faculty, and industry professionals to discuss AI-driven business innovation and the next digital economy. The workshop features general research presentations and paper development sessions, providing a forum for scholarly exchange, senior-scholar feedback, and community building within KrAIS.
